男 (Man): Want to go somewhere?
女 (Woman): No.
男: Will you watch a DVD?
女: Yes. What do you want to watch?
男: Did you already see Godzilla?
女: Godzilla? I don’t like Japanese movies.
男: Then, Titanic.
女: (It’s) old.
男: Then, what do you want to watch?
女: E.T.? (Want to watch E.T.?)
男: That is more old (That is older)
Grammar That Confused Me
Grammar 1: 好きじゃないの
I thought の here was referring to DVD but later learned that it’s used to explain a reason.
“I don’t like Japanese movies, that’s why, I don’t want to watch Godzilla.
Grammar 1 Clarity: The particle の is used to explain a reason.
